Register your Early Career Teachers with LEAD Teaching School Hub, as the Appropriate Body for ECT Induction in Lincolnshire, to benefit from a service designed by experienced school-based ECT Mentors. Induction goes beyond the minimum statutory requirements to ensure the best possible start to the careers of our next generation of teachers.

The appointment of an Appropriate Body is a statutory requirement for the induction period of ECTs and the Appropriate Body makes the final decision as to whether an ECT has met the Teachers’ Standards on the recommendation of the Headteacher/Principal. An ECT needs to be registered with an Appropriate Body before they commence their induction. It is possible to complete an induction programme on a part-time basis. The induction period for a part-time ECT is calculated pro-rata so that the same number of sessions is covered as for a full time ECT.

It is the responsibility of schools to ensure that they commit appropriate resources to the induction of ECTs. It is the joint responsibility of the Appropriate Body and the school to ensure the quality of this induction provision.

Testimonials

The NQT training sessions I’ve attended to date have been extremely beneficial for two key reasons.  Firstly, they have given me the opportunity to meet with other NQTs from various schools to share ideas and best practice, and also to discuss any concerns or issues surrounding all aspects of teaching.

Secondly, having had real-life experience of teaching my own class this year, I have been able to draw upon this to get the most out of the sessions, making the training both relevant and purposeful.  Furthermore, the advice we’ve received from the experienced trainers has been incredibly practical and worthwhile because I have been able to implement many suggestions and ideas the very next day in the classroom. I couldn’t recommend it highly enough!

Sara Morris

NQT, The Bluecoat School

The NQT training I’ve received has been exactly what I’ve needed to get me through my time as an NQT! I knew this year would come with its challenges, but I can honestly say I have felt completely supported from start to finish. I have always felt in control. Yes, I know, rare words for an NQT! I have been on copious training sessions, liaising with experienced consultants across Lincolnshire. These sessions have enabled me to grow into my role as a professional teacher. I can’t thank Keystone and their wonderful team enough!
